Slideways Safe Driver Education
Pimpama
Slideways is proud to introduce the Safe Driver Education Program.
The program has been designed to suit students from 12-18 years old, to empower them with knowledge and practical experience to make safe choices when driving, prior to getting their Learner’s Licence.
The program will give participants a positive mindset towards motoring, make them aware of driving standards and choices, while also giving them experience driving a motorised vehicle in a safe and controlled environment.
Our aim through the Safe Driver Program is to ensure that young drivers are best prepared when it comes time to take to the wheel.
Here are some of the young driver facts and the reasons for why this course is necessary
- 45% of all young Australian injury deaths are due to road traffic crashes
- Young drivers (17-25 years) represent 25% of all Australian road deaths, but make up less than 15% of the licenced driver population
- A 17-year-old driver with a P1 licence is four times more likely to be involved in a fatal road accident than a driver over 26 years of age
There are currently many driver courses available to those with a current licence, but nothing prior to receiving the learner licence.
The course is about teaching good habits early and enabling future young drivers to make safe choices.
We would love the opportunity to discuss the options further, to show you how we can improve these statistics and save young Australian lives.
“This was our first time participating in the Slideways driver education program, so we were not sure what to expect. We were very pleased with the program as it delivered a range of practical skills and knowledge useful for young drivers.
The program focused on three areas: car maintenance, driver skills and driver awareness. The ability to get into a moving vehicle, really helps to cement the importance of road safety and best of all our students had fun doing the program.
I would highly recommend this program whether you have students that will be getting their licence soon or have already started driving. We will be using this program again!”
