Slideways Enduro Series Round 9 Report

The 2017 Slideways Enduro Series is set to go down to the wire, with Global Action Photography claiming their fourth race win of the season in challenging conditions yesterday.

Following a wet start to the day, which somewhat scrambled the qualifying results, the Global Action crew of Pete Brown, Jake Albertson and Camron Robertson put in a clean race throughout the 65-minute journey.

The secret to their success was a clean pair of pit stops, which saw them clear out to a final victory margin of 18.304sec.

Second and third overall for the day were TSR and 2TSR, who battled hard throughout the event.

The lead squad started on pole position thanks to young gun Liam Hydes’ efforts in qualifying, and he impressively led the field away from the drop of the green flag.

The race for the TSR crews somewhat unravelled at the first pit stop round, where a slow seat belt fastening on the lead kart also delayed the second kart, which was double stacked immediately behind.

The two teams were glued together for the entire run to the chequered flag, with only 0.3sec separating them after 86 circuits.

Home fourth were CTS Motorsport, who were another fast crew to come unstuck in the pits, with seat belt issues necessitating a kart change, which saw them drop ground to the competition.

Fifth across the finishing line were the 1788 Kangaroos, edging out the Old Dogs, with Les Femmes Kangaroos coming through the pack strongly from tenth on the grid to seventh.

Chasing Les Femmes right to the flag were Multi 21, who had to settle for eighth, with two newcomers rounding out the results, with FSC Racing edging out The Bunji Kangaroos.

The fastest lap of the race went to the 2TSR team, with a 43.399sec.

The Slideways Enduro Series concludes on Sunday November 12, while the Slideways Sprint Series continues on week earlier on November 5.
