GJK Trumps World Class Enduro Competition

GJK Racing continued their fine form in the Slideways Enduro Series, with the penultimate event for the season held under lights at Slideways Go Karting World Pimpama.

Kicking off proceedings were three five-minute-long qualifying sessions, with the times from each driver determining the grid order for the 110 lap/75 minute race.

Starting from pole was GJK, ahead of LC Racing, then Global Action Photography, Streamline Karting, the 1788 Kangaroos, LBL Racing, TSR, Going Buckets, Old Farts Racing and Ark Em.

Anchored by Jackson, Keenan took the middle stint, while Gavin Faulkner brought the GJK crew home, greeting the chequered flag some 10.513sec clear of the competition.

The Global Action squad of Camron Robertson, Jake Albertson and Matt Hudson were in the fight throughout, and the only other finisher on the lead lap with GJK.

Third place was an awesome result for the duo of Olivia Herbison and Chloe Buck, with Herbison forced to double stint after the LC Racing team was left a driver short just prior to the race.

Streamline Karting of Christian Bishop, Phil Edwards and Chloe Herbison also finished on 109 laps in fourth, ahead of twice World Finalists TSR on 108 laps.

Going Buckets was sixth, from LBL Racing, Ark Em, Old Farts Racing and the 1788 Kangaroos.

In terms of lap times, less than a second covered the entire field, with GJK Racing setting the benchmark with a 40.048sec time, just ahead of Global Action’s 40.085sec, with the tenth swiftest outfit, Old Farts Racing, registering a 41.000sec time.

In other awards for the evening, Ian Harvey was given the Encouragement Award, while Phil Edwards was named Best & Fairest.

Two races remain on the Slideways calendar for 2018, with the Junior and Cadet Racing Series continuing on Sunday December 2nd, while the Enduro Series concludes with a three hour race on Friday December 7th.

As with all Slideways events, early bird entries receive a free bonus practice session, with further details available on the Slideways race days web page.
